Positive Trends at the 64th Genoa Boat Show: A Boost for Small Boats

The 64th edition of the Genoa Boat Show in 2024 attracted 120, 864 visitors, marking a 2.19% increase from the previous year.
This growth, while not as significant as the double-digit rise seen in 2023, underscores a notable interest from business clients, particularly in the small boating sector.
The event concluded with a positive outlook for small boats, which had faced uncertain forecasts earlier in the year.
Despite a day of adverse weather conditions, sea trials surged by 24%, facilitated by an additional 1, 000 square meters of water exhibition space.
This increase reflects the keen interest of potential buyers in small and medium-sized boats, which were prominently tested.
Andrea Razeto, president of the organizing body, noted the show as a turning point for the industry, with final sales figures expected to confirm this trend by year-end.
Marina Stella, director general of Confindustria Nautica, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the renewed interest in smaller vessels, which had struggled in recent years.
The superyacht sector also maintained its growth trajectory, with expectations of positive outcomes from the autumn show season.
Industry leaders like Piero Formenti and Cataldo Aprea emphasized the importance of the show for client engagement and new business opportunities, despite logistical challenges.
Mauro Feltrinelli acknowledged the market's return to normalcy after a period of rapid expansion, while Marco Valle and Alberto Galassi noted strong domestic interest and a slight increase in international visitors.
The next Genoa Boat Show is scheduled for September 18-23, 2025.
